You know what you need… a Whimseybox!

In the Sprinkles and Booze future, I will be having a ton of Do-It-Yourself greatness and tutorials in the like. I love the idea behind making something from start to finish on your own. There is something magical and wizard-like about saying you’ve created something unique and interesting.

With all of this said, I want to introduce you guys to Whimseybox! I received my first Whimseybox last week and boy, I was excited! What the hell is a Whimseybox you say?! Only the coolest thing ever! It’s a $15 a month service in which you can get a DIY kit delivered right to your home. At Whimseybox they believe everyone is creative and has the ability to make something unique and beautiful. Do you know how many times i’ve heard someone tell me they want to do more DIY projects and never do it or are super lazy? Well, PROBLEM SOLVED! You get instructions, all the materials, cute packaging, and creative freedom to make something rad.

Okay, so on to the box…

So my first box was a DIY Peppermint Lip Balm! The box arrived adorably packaged and ready to go. The box is reusable and comes with a label for organizing purposes. It came with 3 tins to put the lip balm in, peppermint oil, castor oil, a dropper, three sticks for mixing and a linen drawstring bag full of beeswax beads.

The lip balm was VERY simple to make but totally fun. I felt like a mad scientist in the best way possible and I am happy with the end results. I was toying with the idea of adding a bit of lipstick to make them tinted but decided against it last minute. Overall, I give my first Whimseybox project 5 out of 5 Sprinkle filled shot glasses.

So basically I fell in love with Whimseybox if you couldn’t tell. What are some DIY projects you’ve been thinking about lately?

Stay sexy Gotham!

Since we’re going into Mercury Retrograde, which is a great time for tying up loose ends and getting things in order, DIY projects have been on my mind mega-muchos lately. Most of the projects buzzing around in my brain have to do with home and organization. I just splurged on a gorgeous new bookshelf and dresser and I don’t know HOW I can possibly wait for their delivery tomorrow! HNNGH! Once I have a real home for all my comics and books, I’ll be able to get down and dirty with the rest of my space. I’m enrolled in Leonie Dawson’s 6-week Sacred Space e-course starting next week and oooooooo baby am I excited. I can’t wait to start crafting altars, fixing up curtains, and repurposing my old baskets for new organization. HOT DOG!
