New Year Stones Sprinkles and Booze

Best ever New Year my love bunnies.

We have all said goodbye to the beautiful year that was 2013 yesterday. It was an amazingly great year for me and I hope it was the same for you. There were some ups and downs but that is beauty of life. I’ve learned to count my blessings and focus on the positive daily. I have been fighting evil by moonlight, and learning not to let the negativity of others sneak into my love by daylight. Life is too short and precious to spend even more than 10 minutes of your day upset about stuff you can’t change or that will not matter in the long run.

I will be regrouping and working smarter in 2014. I will be educating myself and taking classes to be the well rounded me I know I am on the inside. I want to spend more time with friends and loved ones. I want to complete projects that i’ve put off in the past. I want to take lots of bubble baths, spend more time completely unplugged, and go on long bike rides. I want to send handwritten love letters in the mail and have tea parties. I want to be more courageous and celebrate my victories on a daily.

These are very few of the things I want to achieve this year. I am ready to get to work and stop making excuses. Are you ready? What are you hoping to learn, complete, change, or improve this year? I feel like 2014 is going to be a massive stepping stone for most people. Launch into your destiny.

Happy New Year, my friends and as always…

Be guilty enough to change.

Get fed up with yourself Sprinkles and Booze

Why hello there!

This post is going to be a heart to heart on a personal level. I believe every part of your life should be a full on party and part of the party is being real with yourself.

The other day, I found myself inhaling some greasy fast food within minutes. Hell, possibly seconds. I barely ate anything throughout the day and when I had a minute to eat I wanted something “delicious” and that would fill me up. Yes, the deep fried treats were tasty but I don’t even recall chewing. There wasn’t a spiritual or cultural connection with my food. Nothing says buzz kill like a meal that is not homemade, full of calories, grease, chemicals, and guilt.

Typically, when we feel guilty it’s rather easy for our thoughts to spiral out of control. I would find myself skipping meals or putting in longer time at the gym to make up for my slip up or just completely give up. It’s a ridiculous cycle and it’s played out. If there is no balance there is no order.

All I am sure of is, I am not living out my full life’s party. Being in a repeated cycle of lack of self control and damaging my health isn’t fully living. It’s like living a hangover.

I have been know to be a hypochondriac but I do have my fair share of health issues. I’m not going to sit here and list out all of my issues but to name a couple I suffer from severe allergies and eczema. I am at a point in my life where I have completely had enough.

I am ready to look at what is missing and figuring out why I remain stuck. I am researching and digging deep within my glitter covered soul to develop a long-lasting life/health plan for a party girl. Like all good things, I know it will take time, experimenting, a strong support system, and an open mind.

I want to develop a personal system that sets me up for success. I want my way of life to allow me to connect with my unique body and figure out what my body is telling me and what it needs less of and more of. I will make self-care a necessary practice while allowing myself to have the occasional “bad” food.

I plan on applying a rule of “weekend bad girl” that will allow me to not go completely Girls Gone Wild, but be okay with having the occasional junk food. It’s important to me not to let the guilt sabotage my progress. I need to stop promising myself that I will work out tomorrow and promise myself that I will make a strong effort to be the most festive and healthiest me I can be.

To get to this change, I will be making mental (and sometimes physical) notes of how I feel when I do certain things. It’s proven that the more productive and positive you are towards a goal the more results you will receive.

With a New Year, always comes new goals. We always want things to be different and better but there comes a time when you need to suck it up and figure out what you’re doing wrong. When figuring these things out, you must not punish yourself for the downfalls that occur, but realize why they happen and what you’re going to do to make it better.

My 2014 is going to be about growth and self worth. We are all worthy of our heart desires if we invest in ourselves. Investments don’t have to be unpleasant but about your way of life. Know what you deserve and where you can work harder.

What do you plan on doing to make your 2014 about compassion, self worth, and lots of laughs? How are you going to turn yourself into the connected and stunning party monster that is inside of you? The holidays are the perfect time to reconnect with yourself and loved ones, get ready to be honest with yourself and shine in 2014.

Stay sexy Gotham!

Sprinkles vs Sparkles: New Year Style

Friday, January 4th, 2013

Happy New Year, my loves! It’s my first post of the year and BOY am I excited to be doing it. It’s been a great first week of 2013 and lots of exciting things in the works for myself (and others).

It’s a beautiful cloudy Friday (I like when it’s cloudy/rainy and should probably be living in London), and I am listening to Thom Yorke and things couldn’t be more perfect in this very moment. When looking over everything gathered for this week’s Sprinkles vs Sparkles, I got super excited like a little kid on Christmas morning, so lets get to it!

♡ Literally was informed of this blog post this morning on the amazing Izziyana Suhaimi. Such lovely work.

♡ Gala’s list of resolution ideas are fantastic. I’ve added a couple to my goals.

♡  Remembering this moment in The Avengers made me happy all over again.

Cuteness in a basket.

♡  I enjoyed making this. You can make your own here.

♡ Finding this FANTASTIC blog called Nerd Fitness and this brilliant post.

♡ This gif warms my soul.

♡ Useful convention information.

♡ OMG. This hair.

♡ At some point this year, these leggings will be in my life.

♡ I met a FANTASTIC (actually two) fantastic photographers this week. Planning some awesome shoots in which I am excited for. Outfit posts/full figure modeling portfolio/lifestyle blog photos will be a regular feature on Sprinkles and Booze. ♡ Lovely conversations with Lea. She always gives the best advice and is a blessing. ♡ This combination of Ruby Woo and Love Alert Dazzleglass by MAC. ♡ I’m a proud meal planner. I’ve been planning my meals for the past couple of days and it’s been working out, smashingly! Plan out your food and stop eating rubbish! Your body will love you. ♡ Re-falling in love with the burlesque routine I will be performing with some other lovely ladies later this month. ♡ I signed up for this class at the New York school of Burlesque. I will be taking it on Sunday and can not wait! ♡ I adore that I drank like a grown up on New Year’s Eve and proudly woke up without a hangover to start my new year. ♡ I met Gabrielle Bernstein this week and she signed her latest book for me. She misspelled my name but it was the fault of the loud area we were in and me not correcting her. It really doesn’t matter because she is love.

So there you have it my sweet bunnies! My first week of 2013 wrap up. Tons of work to do in the next few weeks but it will all be worth it. I am blessed and excited to have all of you guys and look forward to my little piece of the internet to continue to grow, get crazy, and bring complete insanity to your world.

How was your first week of this new fantastic year? What do you look MOST forward to?

And we’re done here…

Monday, December 31st, 2012

It has arrived! The final day of 2012 and I feel like a lot of us couldn’t say Good-bye to 2012 fast enough. Most of us will over eating, over drinking and over dancing tonight. All I can say to that is GET IT IN! It is a well deserved celebration. Try to give gratitude and have a positive reflection of the year that has passed and party in which ever way you decide is fit. Set some goals, crash some parties, throw some glitter, and do it all responsibly.

Some things i’m thankful for from this year and happy about are…

Deciding to add purple and blue to my hair. Realizing that you can celebrate Black History month and Valentine’s Day all at the same time by being in a interracial relationship. That I have seen Coheed and Cambria over 300 times. I made a insane amount of new friends this year. I love all of your bunnies. Starting Sprinkles and Booze! Being educated on adding raw and wholesome foods to my diet. Get your organs right! Mike Fuckin’ Falzone. My old friends that have always been there for me and I don’t know where I would be without them. My family for being fucking amazing. My lovely grandmother whom had her final rest at the beautiful age of 103. She is forever in my heart. That the world didn’t end the three times it was supposed to. Hurricane Sandy didn’t murder me. I learned how to move like jagger and take more dance classes than I can count. OMG! I went to so many amazing concerts, shows, musicals and plays this year. Gangnam style. One of the best Afro Punk festivals i’ve been to out of ALL of them. The insane nail art that has been happening in my life. Having a heart to heart with David Cross about law of attraction. Getting Obama back in office. Aliens deciding we weren’t ready for their jelly and not killing us all.

I am actually overwhelmed looking back at 2012. There are way too many things I can list that were grand and exciting. If I don’t stop now, my friends will kick my ass for not getting ready for my New Year’s Eve in Boston. Read a little about what I am doing here. 2013 should be a rather interesting one for sure. It’s going to be full of love and Kanye West’s offspring! How exciting!

Happy New Year,

P.S. I just remembered this happened this year and it’s appropriate for New Year’s Eve…

Now that the world didn’t end, we need to get to work.

Friday, December 28th, 2012

Every year around this time, we reflect on the year that is quickly coming to an end and the new one to start. Most people become over excited about the fresh new start and make big plans to change their lives for the better. We are always looking to make the new year THE year. The year where we lose all the unwanted weight, the year where we make tons of money and travel the world, the year that we become Batman.

What ends up happening to most people is we don’t keep our eye on the prize. It’s simple to make a resolution but to make that resolution into a stable realistic goal is something entirely different. With a goal, you must break down what needs to be done and by when. The resolution is basically the ‘dream’ or ‘idea’ that you have. Once you make that into a goal and dig into the guts of it, is how you make it a reality.

Like I mentioned above, a lot of resolutions are the ‘dream’. You state ideally what you would like to happen in the new year but never brainstorm on how exactly you plan on pulling it off. I can’t tell you how many times i’ve made the same exact resolutions year after year with no change. I had to learn to never make repeat goals. If I feel it is something that I really need or want in my life, I need to take it more seriously. If I find myself repeating the same goals over and over, I break them down into micro goals. Eventually you will get to the larger goal if you handle it piece by piece.

When picking out goals to your ideal life, get creative. The crazier the better, honestly. Sit and write down your achievable goals that you can make a part of your day to day life. Put this list of goals somewhere that you will see it on a regular basis. Keep it simple at first, maybe 5 or 6 things you wish to achieve in your daily life until they become habit. If you’re still stuck and can’t be a crazy weirdo like myself, I will give you guys four examples of my personal goals for 2013.

Instead of saying I want to lose weight, I replace losing weight with being happy. Being healthy brings happiness. It has been proven over and over again. In order to be at your complete state of bliss, you have to be putting bliss into your body and become more active. Try not to focus too much on what a scale says to you or how little you’re exercising. When being active be sure you’re doing something you actually enjoy. Dance around, jump on your bed, have a pillow fight, frolic, whatever! Just move your bum. Include little rules in your diet like “I am going to eat a pound of veggies and have half of a cookie for dessert”. The more you add little things into your lifestyle for health, the happier you will be and you will achieve the desired weight you wish to have.

Instead of wanting to make more money, I am going to learn to live within what I am currently making. Document every penny that you spend. You will be shocked at what you’re buying that is so unnecessary. I am a girl with expensive taste so if you’re the same way, I am sure a budget sounds completely not fabulous. Most people that live fabulously live on a budget. You have to be realistic about what you’re purchasing and where your money is going. The better your stick to a budget the more Betsey Johnson you can own. I went on a not so awesome date with a guy that works on Wall Street a couple of months ago and he gave me one of the best pieces of financial advice ever. He told me that if you’re going to invest in something, it should be something that you use daily or you know you will use often. Yep, that was the only positive thing I could take from that date.

Instead of relying on meeting new people to have a good time, I will learn to have more play dates with myself. Maybe go to the cinema one early afternoon alone or go to the park and read a book. Learn to disconnect to connect with others. The more you’re aware of yourself the more likely you will connect with like minded brilliant people.

Instead of saying I want to have a kick ass brand/blog, I will attend lectures, workshops, and gather with like minded bunnies. The kick ass blog and branding will follow the more I surround myself with people and events that will help me get to my next level of rad-ness. Form your bad ass posse, take some classes even if you’re not sure how exactly it will help you get to where you need to be. Explore! The bigger and badder the posse, the better!

I hope these examples helped kick start your list of goals for 2013. NOW is the time to create the world you desire to have. It might take some time to get there but that means it’s completely worth it.

Do you already have some ideas and goals in action? What are some of your wants for 2013?

Still adding to my list,
