Reaper Haunt Sprinkles and Booze

Artwork by the ever so amazing Jaymz Bernard

Hi there team Sprinkle!

I don’t know about you, but I find camping to be a terrifying experience. Most of the time you don’t have cell phone service, you can’t run away from biting bugs, you have to tap into your inner caveman and start a campfire, and other wood related horrors. But that is the thrill of camping, right? We love to challenge ourselves and be one with nature.

What happens when you turn your camping experience into a real life horror movie? You then have the scariest new haunted attraction coming to a campsite near you. This weekend, Reaper House Entertainment will unleash their horrors upon Connecticut at Camp Cedarcrest. Who is crazy enough to sign up for a 13 hour haunt you may ask? Me, duh!

After signing your life away, the brave campers will face a variety of terrifying scares and you are placed into your very own, very fun horror film. This isn’t a haunted attraction for the kiddies which means, you will be pushed to your limits and definitely terrified.

It’s like a Halloween party in the middle of the summer! Who could ask for? Who wants to join me this Friday for the scariest (and most fun) experience ever? We can make s’mores and hold one another until we’re not afraid anymore. Get on over to ReaperHaunt.com for the details and be sure to use the discount code of: krissentme for a sweet discount!

Where are my brave little toasters at? Come with bug spray, ready to be terrified, and as always…

Because life celebrating doesn’t have to be the same ol’.

Friday, March 14th, 2014

It’s not always easy thinking of new things to do with your friends. There are only so many movie and dinner nights you can handle before you’re tired of doing the same old thing. We all enjoy creative and unique gatherings, but don’t always have the time or energy to put into planning.

Last month I was an attendee of Little Black Business Book’s first ever Art + Alcohol event. The event encourages you to unleash your inner Picasso, while eating delicious tapas by Whisk + Brush and gettin’ tipsy, I mean enjoying wine.

When we arrived to the event, the room was buzzing with excited people. We all grabbed our drinks and food while listening to the musical stylings of a live pianist. As soon we took our seats, we had the overwhelming feeling to get our paint on. I MAY or may not have started painting before I was supposed to, but that is the beauty of an event like this. You’re to make it your own and you don’t need experience to have a great time.

We were supplied with paint, canvas, a smock, a drink, some macaroons and some good old fashioned hope. You know, all of the essentials to create our masterpieces. While we were unleashing our inner creatives geniuses, there were raffle drawings for some pretty magical prizes. The grand prize was a 3 day 2 night stay in Las Vegas. I would have never imagined that I would be the one to win such a lovely prize but apparently lady luck was on my side. Get it, because it’s Vegas. Whatever…i’m funny! ANYWAY…YAY, I am going to Vegas! I was blessed to be hanging out with good friends while making new friends, so winning the grand prize was literally just the cherry on top of my sprinkle covered cupcake.

Ashley Keller, owner of My Little Black Business Book, is the mastermind behind this creative and expressive booze-y event. “My mother in law is a painter and we were having wine and painting during my last visit to South Carolina when she said ‘This is so fun…painting and drinking wine with you.’ and a light bulb went off.” Ashley stated. “I want people to enjoy the same experience we had and POOF….Art + Alcohol was born.” and thank goodness it was. Being born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut I know we could always use more interesting events to give our city life. Ashley mentioned that she wants to turn Art + Alcohol into a series and introduce other mediums of art as well.

When asking Ashley how she felt about the outcome of the first Art + Alcohol event, she said “I am overwhelmed with excitement about the outcome! Everyone that came had a blast!” and being a guest, I can easily say she is correct. The event completely sold out and was full of positive energy. So when is the next Art + Alcohol? Ashley, being the amazing planner that she is, already has the next event lined up. The  Spring Fling edition of Art & Alcohol will be held on Thursday, April 10th!

Art+Alcohol (1)

Connecticut based artist, Nicole Grant-Paul will once again instruct us on how to be world class artists while being wine-os. Nicole gave us really simple instructions to follow and made sure we mixed our paint in the proper hues. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us this time around.

Sprinkles and Booze Art + Alcohol

Anything involving art and booze will always make for a legit good time. Grab some girl friends (or dude friends), don’t forget your laughter, and get ready to create. Life celebrations always create the best memories. I am beyond excited and can’t wait for this artsy spring fling.

Most fine artists are winos, right? Come and be merry, drink wine and as always…

Sassy Confetti Sprinkles Photobooth: Unicorn Edition!

Thursday, February 13th, 2014

SassyConfettiSprinkles Sprinkles and Booze

What does being sassy, confetti, sprinkles and unicorns have in common? EVERYTHING! I teamed up with Sassy Mouth Photo and The Confetti Bar to sponsor a kickass photobooth for Love Haven 2014. Love Haven was a handmade & vintage marketplace + art show + performance showcase event that took place last weekend. Let me go over the birth of this interactive and insanely fun photo booth.

A few weeks ago during a meeting with Jessica, I mentioned that I have been seriously thinking of adding custom photobooths as a service I wish to offer as a party maker. While I was going over all of the ideas that have been circling in my head, she mentioned that Melissa of Vintanthromodern Vintage Shop asked her to do a photobooth for Love Haven this year. Jessica invited me to team up with her to make it the most magical and most fun. I accepted the invite with a giant “HELL YES!” and that magic began.

I have the amazing habit of thinking of something I want to do and jumping right into it. This can be awesome because it gets the ball rolling but also be terrible because you can instantly feel overwhelmed. After exchanging a few emails with Jessica and setting up a couple of meetings, we had no clue what we were fully going to do for the theme. We were worried as to how we were going to manage the booth, while taking photos, while being fabulous all at the same time. Let’s just say destiny mixed with a good friendship with Marissa of Sassy Mouth Photo saved the day! Marissa stepped in to be our photographer extraordinaire and to bring the sass. Team Sassy Confetti Sprinkles was born!

So you must be thinking…what does this have to do with unicorns? Everything sillies! Jessica and I both at the same time realized we needed to unleash our inner Lisa Frank fantasies onto the people of Love Haven. Unicorns are everything and the only thing that could make them better is confetti.

Jessica and I created the concept, the backdrop, the kissing booth, and jazzed up Mr. Sparkles the Unicorn Pinata. The unicorn horns were from the wonderful Tweedle Dee Designs and the Unicorn Dandruff confetti of course was created by the lovely Jessica. We wouldn’t have such amazingly stunning images if it wasn’t for Marissa of Sassy Mouth Photo and the models were the stunning attendees, vendors, and party monsters of Love Haven 2014.  If you couldn’t tell, we had a TON of fun and we would more than love to run the Unicorn Booth for another event so hit me up if you’re interested in being a unicorn and stuff.

Party on, sparkle, shine and as always…

Picnic Weddings Forever.

Missoni Wedding Sprinkles and Booze

Weddings are wonderful. I think even the grumpiest of people could appreciate the beauty and love behind a good wedding, even if only for the free booze. In this day and age, you can still have classic, unique, and charming without spending your life savings. We have entered a new realm of glam without spending over $10,000 or your first born on a wedding dress and it’s wonderful.

I believe it was year ago I was swooning over the wedding of Margherita Missoni. How dreamy is a picnic fairy princess wedding? It was stunning without being over the top. I love creative beauty that is true to the individual. It’s extremely refreshing.

Margherita literally wore her dream dress. Her dress actually reminds me of a modern and chic version of the infamous ball gown from the Labyrinth. Margherita found a dress she fell in love with 15 years prior to her wedding day. She wanted to make a custom gown similar to the image she fell in love with. She seized the day and created her dream dress with the help of her mother. How completely amazing would it be to not only have your dress customly made but to create it with your mother? Margherita had a fairy tale like dress that had a very strong regal allure. Simply stunning!

Dining Bride Sprinkles and Booze

The brunch was served as an elegant “lunch on the grass” with round and square tables on large cushions and Oriental mats. I am absolutely in love with how extremely bohemian chic this wedding is, and it doesn’t have to break the bank.

45-1

Having the ideal bohemian chic wedding can be as simple as becoming one with nature and finding the perfect spot in a park to tie the knot or even going to thrift stores and finding beautiful antique glassware. Non Traditional weddings are in, and the concept of having to spend over $100,000 to marry the person you love is out. Feel free to get completely creative! Have an enchanted Harry Potter bohemian style wedding in the woods and send out your wedding invitations by an owl carrier (how amazing would that be)? Anything you dream, you can make a reality and do it within a realistic budget. Turn all of your events, from your wedding day to a dinner party into a unique and special memory. Life is about our memories and what we create, don’t lose sight of that. As always…
