Kidecals Sprinkles and Booze

I am so in love with my rose petal covered keyboard. Like completely in love. I honestly think it part of the reason I’ve had a burst of inspiration lately. I am choosing to get off my bum and actually get things done.

This time of year, it can be difficult to keep up your mojo and remain inspired. I am in a very creative and demanding field, so inspiration. Mid-November in the US,we typically want to hibernate. It gets cold outside. It’s super dark at like 5PM. You’re so focused on the holidays and how to make it wonderful for others. I’ve decided this year, I am going to take a different approach and look for inspiration in places in which I wouldn’t have. I have to remind myself that, I have decided to live an inspired life. I must not forget to find the inspiration in everything I love. No matter how small.

Living an inspired life of course goes beyond rose covered decals but, we must remember to turn the focus back on oneself. I am opting to impress myself. I want to always out do my best efforts. I want to make sure I am setting up my life so when look back at it when I am 148 I can be proud.

Refreshing your workspace and changing your mindset can work wonders!Sometimes it takes something small to push you to your happy place. I opted to put some pep in my laptop’s step up with decals. Where are you going to find your cold weather inspiration?

My Strange Addiction: I am addicted to lemons.

Lemon Sprinkles and Booze

Most of my good friends are aware that I have quite the regular craving for lemon…with the rind and all. I have been trying to cut down on my love for the beautiful golden fruit but after going days without having even a single wedge I go a little nuts. The super strange sour addiction has been something i’ve had for most of my life. I didn’t full on start eating lemon until about 2 years ago. It’s to the point now that if I go out to lunch or dinner with a friend, they just hand me their lemon from their drink.

I decided to cut down on my lemon intact due to it “being bad for your teeth”. Yes, lemons can break down the enamel on your teeth but my enamel seems to be in pretty good shape. This also comes with the help of my enamel strengthening toothpaste. At this point, I will have a few lemons a week and I am happy with this.

Lemons can be the perfect addition to your party cocktails or in your daily beverages. They have been known to even help prevent hangovers, YES, I said help prevent hangovers! So stop hatin’ on them. Lemon juice has been said to be a hangover cure for generations. In 1929, the product Seven-Up came on the market. Its original name “Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda” was promoted as a hangover cure.

It’s 2013, and we still don’t know what the REAL causes of hangovers really are but one of the many theories is that it is due to low blood sugar. The idea is that as the body metabolizes or processes alcohol, the process can inhibit glucose production and result in hypoglycemia, which can add to hangover symptoms. With this said, it’s wise to consume fruits, natural/raw fruit juices, or honey to decrease hangover grossness.

Lemon contains citric acid, the body’s acidic condition can be transformed to an alkaline condition. With all of this said, drinking lemon juice or just consuming the lemon can actually help ease symptoms of a hangover by making the body more alkaline. Also, teas will replace the body fluids that are depleted during drinking…throw some lemon in that bitch! Who doesn’t love their cup of tea with lemon? YUM!

Lemon doesn’t just help bring the party to your beverages but there are so many great benefits. Here is a list of a few other amazing benefits of lemon (you’re welcome):

Your face loves lemon! Lemon is WONDERFUL for your skin. Blemishes, blackheads, pimples, you name it and lemons can fix it. Slice open a lemon and rub it across your face once in a while. It will work wonders on your skin and your face will be mega happy.

Your teeth can actually use SOME of the acid. With a little bit of lemon juice and baking soda on your teeth, your pearly whites will be ultra white. Like I mentioned before, be careful. Too much of this acid can break down your enamel so this is nice for a short amount of time and once in a while.

Inhale, deep breaths, and add lemon. There has been research shown that lemon has a calming effect. It can help with anxiety, nervousness and tension. It is also believed that inhaling lemon oil helps in increasing concentration and alertness. Get some lemon oil and add it to your work area to remain alert, fabulous, and brilliant.

Nature’s gum. Lemon is great for freshening breath that has gone wrong after eating foods, drinking, smoking, among other bad breath issues. You can rinse your mouth with some lemon juice or even chew on a lemon slice after every meal.

Cancer is a cunt! Lemons contain 22 anti-cancer compounds. It includes limonene oil which slows the growth of cancer tumors and flavonol glycosides which stop cell division in cancer cells. Lemon is your friend!

Lemons are always available, inexpensive and in all honesty the benefits can be endless! They are a powerful antioxidant, antibacterial, astringent, diuretic, AND packed full of Vitamin C, A, B1, B6, and P, magnesium, potassium, and folic acid. So next time you see me eating a wedge, pick one up and join in on the greatness. And as always…

A Diva has to have her stuff.

Thursday, July 18th, 2013

Why hey there! As you guys may know, I am always on the lookout for fun natural and handcrafted beauty products. It is always wonderful putting something on your skin that you know is natural and isn’t secretly killing you.

Recently I was contacted by Diva Stuff which is a business based out of north Florida. All of the products sold are safe ingredients, handmade , and will make you hungry. Honestly half of the products I received I thought to myself “I sort of want this in my mouth.” So yummy smelling!

Diva Stuff was started by owner Kym when she started doing extreme research about all natural skin care products. She educated herself on all skin  secrets from around the world. Kym had taken it upon herself to share these secrets with her friends. When their powers combine they became a team of mega babes that make and sell a line of wonderful products!

Diva Stuff was ever so kind to send me some products to review. As all of you know, I am here to inform you of everything that involves celebrating your life and making everything a party. I can whole heartedly say that these products are a party for your body. The products in which I received were the Thai Coconut And Oxygen 8 Face Cream, the Lemon Derm Facial Firm Lemon-Sugar Face Scrubbies, the Body Buff Sugar Cube Body Scrub which is Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with Kiwi Seeds, and Anti Itch Dry Skin Body Lotion in the Light Cucumber Melon Scent.

The Thai Coconut And Oxygen 8 Face Cream is to die for. It’s super light and leaves your skin feeling so new and fresh. Coconut water is known to decrease the excess oils on your skin to make it look and feel soft, supple, and young. Coconut water can decrease the skin’s aging process and contains cytokinin. I honestly had no clue what cytokinin was until I googled it. It helps regulate cell growth and division within your skin. This product is like magic for my face in every which way. I had to stop typing this just to put some on right now. It is the refreshing wake up that I need in the morning.

On to the Lemon Derm Facial Firm Lemon-Sugar Face Scrubbies! What I love about the scrubbies is they can be used several times if you properly care for them. Realistically, it’s a product that is worth purchasing if you don’t want to have to buy a facial cleanser for a while. You simply have to wet the scrubbie and wash your face and then rinse thoroughly. Vitamin C which is found in lemon is so amazing for your face and complexion. I was super excited to have received this product to review. I actually used the scrubbies once in the morning and again in the evening. I have been using them now for about a month and I can see a major difference in my complexion. It seems brighter and i’m beyond pleased with this product. I wish I would have thought to take before and after photos but I didn’t know it was going to kick major ass like this.

The Body Buff Sugar Cube Body Scrub works very similar to the face scrubbies. One cube can go a long way. You are to use the cube like a bar of soap in the shower and there is enough of the cube to wash your whole body. Each cube probably would last me at least two and a half showers. The’ “flavor” that I have of the sugar cube is Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with Kiwi Seeds. When I saw this product I was like “Am I supposed to eat this or wash my body with it?” It seriously looks and smells yummy enough to eat. Luckily, I was able to control myself and use the product as it was intended to be used. The sugar scrubs are excellent for removing dead skin cells and they leave your body feeling amazingly soft and hydrated. A lot of people are not aware that sugar is a brilliant all natural exfoliator and it helps the moisture lock into your skin. I got creative with my cubes and cut some in half and have been using the smaller pieces as a hand soap in my bathroom. My hands have never felt  sexier.

Finally, the last product I tried was the Anti Itch Dry Skin Body Lotion in the Light Cucumber Melon Scent. The scent of this lotion is so clean and wonderful. I have eczema and this anti itch lotion worked wonderfully but I did have to apply it a couple a times a day. In the summer due to sweating and showering at least a couple a times a day, it’s easy for my skin to dry out. I will say that as long as I re-applied the lotion, I didn’t have many problems with scratching so it did it’s job well. I had a friend tell me the other day I smelled like a summer smoothie. I honestly believe it’s because I have been doubling up on this lotion lately.

I also received a hydrating lip balm that I used probably once before my niece stole it. I remember it tasting like gingerbread on Christmas morning and made my lips super soft. Being that my niece decided to make it hers, I would say that it’s a rockin’ product as well. With all of this said, I overall LOVE this line of products and might have become a Diva Stuff-aholic. If you’re always on the market for new and natural products, I would recommend giving this line a go. Super reasonably priced and you will become heavily addicted.

Because I adore you beautiful people so much and want to create a party on your body, I am having my first ever giveaway on my blog! bath sprinkles review

I am about to be pretty open about a health and beauty personal issue. Since I was a child, I have suffered from severe eczema. I have time periods where you would never guess and other times when I am like “Looks like I am going to have to wear sleeves all summer”. It’s been an on going battle but one of my personal goals is to beat the problem and do it naturally.

Sometimes it’s hard having a skin condition in which your skin can feel dry and rough. I am always on the search for natural products that will leave my skin smooth, glowing, and happy. I want to  “fix” my condition and not just hide it. The “fixes” can also be diet related, but that’s a different post for another day.  I’ve had the honor of trying Mashk Tri Miracle Squares. The squares are personally something i’ve never seen before, smell good enough to eat, and are definitely a miracle.

mashkinc sprinkles

I was able to try out the Apricot Fig Madness. Ladies and gents, it sure was a crowd pleaser. I opened the jar and wanted to dive right in and live there. I am a sucker for anything that smells wonderful.

Before using the product, I researched what the skin benefits are of apricots. The squares have a lot of apricot oil which contains Vitamin A & E. These vitamins bring softness to your skin for hours. Having skin issues, it’s always good to work with something that will keep your skin happy for as long as possible.

The squares come with instructions on how to properly clean your face. I like to think outside of the box and I’ve used a few of them on my entire body in the shower. The only downside to this is, you will use up the square pretty quickly. There is a small square of cloth in the middle of the square that holds the ingredients in square form. There is nothing sadder than trying to desperately get all of the goodness off of the cloth square that you’re left with. Once I realized that I was struggling to get the remaining apricot goodness off of the tiny piece of cloth, I realized I am an addict. You’ve won this round, MASHK!

I love MASHK’s motto which is “Closer to the nature, the better our skin looks & feels”. I couldn’t agree more. The more natural a product the better and we  often forget, our skin is our biggest organ. We try to avoid eating “crap”, so why would we put “crap” on our skin.  The squares are made with shea butter glycerin soap, Aloe Vera, allantoin, vitamin C & E, lactic acid and proprietary essential oil blend. All natural, all day, all wonderful.

If you’re in the California area, the products are sold in a few stores and salons for you west coast babes. If you’re anywhere else in the world, you can order the squares via the interwebs, here.

Are you as in love with products that smell good enough to eat like I am? Do you have any hidden eczema natural treatments you would like to share?

Wild about Wildberries!

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013

I needed to take a minute to give you guys a heads up about this amazing soap I purchased the other day. While we were out and about walking around Portland, we popped in to Memento. The shop was charming, fun,and full of amazing indie handmade products.

There were tons of handmade and organic soaps and I was on the hunt for something new and fantastic for my skin. I then came across the brilliance that is Mistral Soap’s Wild Blackberry. It is heaven in the form of soap!

There are two different sizes in which you can purchase. Since I am away, I bought the travel or petite size. I will definitely be purchasing the soap again online and in regular size. Seriously guys, this soap is to die for.

It seems like Mistral soap has a large variety of bath and body products and I will definitely be looking into the brand. I just wanted to pop in and give you guys a heads up on something wonderful.

I love most European body care,
