Sprinkles and Booze

My virtual tip jar : Patreon.com

Patreon Sprinkles and Booze

Bonjour Party Monsters!

Websites that assist with crowdfuning like Kickstarter funding might be an amazing fit for an independent creative making a big project. I was starting to wonder “What about the creatives who are constantly making projects?”

I was having one of my weekly conversations with my friend Jaymz and she told me about this amazing crowd sourcing website called Patreon. The concept of this website is actually brilliant. It gives power to your supporters for them to show…well that they support you! The support gives you more freedom to provide more awesome content, projects, events, etc. It’s also a kick ass way to keep you motivated. It’s a win/win for everyone involved!

I have been looking for something similiar to this website for a while. It allows you to set up the funds provided by your supporters by the project or monthly. I decided to set up my account to allow people to contribute monthly if they ever so desired to do so. You supporters can also support for as long or as little as they wish. It can be as little as a dollar a month of support and when building a brand that dollar definitely does go a long way. That’s 12 dollars a year to help make someone more awesome that you’ve already found to be amazing!

There are a lot of monthly expenses that do come along with being an ever so fabulous lifestyle blogger and party maker. This site would be a supportive network on a whole new level. If you can go to Starbucks and give the barista a tip of a dollar for making you a latte, you can do the same via the internet for people creating awesomeness for your eyeballs, earsballs, and your entire being.

Jack Conte of the band Pomplamoose, created Patreon. He wanted a platform in which supporters have the option of showing their love for the creatives of the world and give the power back to the supporters. Patreon users are able to set the terms of the perks they will provide for patrons on various payment levels. Some people see this as another spin on crowdfunding, but I see it as another way to build a positive support group virtually. Plus, who wouldn’t want the best guaranteed content possible?! This is the best way to go about making the internet even more awesome!

Unicorn take over

Okay folks, everyone hop on a unicorn and lets take over the internet! I actually launched my Patreon a couple of weeks ago and within the first couple of days reached my first goal which is a complete blessing. I haven’t been promoting my account too often due to life circumstances that came up over the last two weeks but now I am back in the game. I am BEYOND ready to take Sprinkles and Booze to the next level and love ALL and any of the support that i’ve gotten up to this point. I seriously love all of you from the bottom of my heart!

I will be making regular updates on my Patreon account and updating the perks regularly! I am so excited about this new venture into the crowdfunding world. Share with anyone that you think would enjoy my madness, continue to be awesome, and as always…

Confetti Connection.

January 19, 2014 | Life's a Party!

So,lately i’ve been brainstorming, day dreaming and getting inspired by Jessica. The brains and beauty behind The Confetti Bar. What is the Confetti Bar you ask? Well, it’s only one of the best sites to ever happen ever! The Confetti Bar is an online boutique that makes any confetti you can dream of. Confetti can be used for far more outside of events and celebrations. You can use it for home decor, craft projects, greeting cards, you name it! There are so many wonderful uses.

This post is not only to confess my love of Jessica and her mad confetti making skills but to showcase her insanely stunning wedding that took place in August 2012. I am a girl that wants to be surrounded by color and love. Her wedding…I have no words. Sassy Mouth photography beautifully captured her special day.  The images are so stunning and so breath taking,  you can literally smell the cotton candy. Here are a few of my favorite images. I swear, my heart melts with joy looking at these images.

How perfect was this wedding?! STUNNING! It’s impossible not to look at these images and not be inspired. I mean, look at those amazing cupcakes by A Little Imagination Cakes! I can practically taste them. This entire wedding definitely encourages the feeling of love, having to surround yourself with sparkly things and do random awesome acts of kindness.

I want to announce an amazing photo booth you can not miss! Sassy Mouth, The Confetti Bar, and Sprinkles & Booze are uniting to bring a very fun, colorful, and fabulous photo booth for Love Haven.

Sprinkles and Booze LOVE Haven

If you can make it to the New Haven, Connecticut area it is definitely an event you do not want to miss. Come get your picture taken and throw some confetti. It’s a perfect way to feel and spread amour. If Jessica’s wedding didn’t move you to be full of love and light, I am not sure what will.

Hopefully I will be seeing some of your stunning faces at Love Haven and as always…

Oh snap! It’s a New Year!

January 1, 2014 | Life's a Party!

New Year Stones Sprinkles and Booze

Best ever New Year my love bunnies.

We have all said goodbye to the beautiful year that was 2013 yesterday. It was an amazingly great year for me and I hope it was the same for you. There were some ups and downs but that is beauty of life. I’ve learned to count my blessings and focus on the positive daily. I have been fighting evil by moonlight, and learning not to let the negativity of others sneak into my love by daylight. Life is too short and precious to spend even more than 10 minutes of your day upset about stuff you can’t change or that will not matter in the long run.

I will be regrouping and working smarter in 2014. I will be educating myself and taking classes to be the well rounded me I know I am on the inside. I want to spend more time with friends and loved ones. I want to complete projects that i’ve put off in the past. I want to take lots of bubble baths, spend more time completely unplugged, and go on long bike rides. I want to send handwritten love letters in the mail and have tea parties. I want to be more courageous and celebrate my victories on a daily.

These are very few of the things I want to achieve this year. I am ready to get to work and stop making excuses. Are you ready? What are you hoping to learn, complete, change, or improve this year? I feel like 2014 is going to be a massive stepping stone for most people. Launch into your destiny.

Happy New Year, my friends and as always…

Be guilty enough to change.

Get fed up with yourself Sprinkles and Booze

Why hello there!

This post is going to be a heart to heart on a personal level. I believe every part of your life should be a full on party and part of the party is being real with yourself.

The other day, I found myself inhaling some greasy fast food within minutes. Hell, possibly seconds. I barely ate anything throughout the day and when I had a minute to eat I wanted something “delicious” and that would fill me up. Yes, the deep fried treats were tasty but I don’t even recall chewing. There wasn’t a spiritual or cultural connection with my food. Nothing says buzz kill like a meal that is not homemade, full of calories, grease, chemicals, and guilt.

Typically, when we feel guilty it’s rather easy for our thoughts to spiral out of control. I would find myself skipping meals or putting in longer time at the gym to make up for my slip up or just completely give up. It’s a ridiculous cycle and it’s played out. If there is no balance there is no order.

All I am sure of is, I am not living out my full life’s party. Being in a repeated cycle of lack of self control and damaging my health isn’t fully living. It’s like living a hangover.

I have been know to be a hypochondriac but I do have my fair share of health issues. I’m not going to sit here and list out all of my issues but to name a couple I suffer from severe allergies and eczema. I am at a point in my life where I have completely had enough.

I am ready to look at what is missing and figuring out why I remain stuck. I am researching and digging deep within my glitter covered soul to develop a long-lasting life/health plan for a party girl. Like all good things, I know it will take time, experimenting, a strong support system, and an open mind.

I want to develop a personal system that sets me up for success. I want my way of life to allow me to connect with my unique body and figure out what my body is telling me and what it needs less of and more of. I will make self-care a necessary practice while allowing myself to have the occasional “bad” food.

I plan on applying a rule of “weekend bad girl” that will allow me to not go completely Girls Gone Wild, but be okay with having the occasional junk food. It’s important to me not to let the guilt sabotage my progress. I need to stop promising myself that I will work out tomorrow and promise myself that I will make a strong effort to be the most festive and healthiest me I can be.

To get to this change, I will be making mental (and sometimes physical) notes of how I feel when I do certain things. It’s proven that the more productive and positive you are towards a goal the more results you will receive.

With a New Year, always comes new goals. We always want things to be different and better but there comes a time when you need to suck it up and figure out what you’re doing wrong. When figuring these things out, you must not punish yourself for the downfalls that occur, but realize why they happen and what you’re going to do to make it better.

My 2014 is going to be about growth and self worth. We are all worthy of our heart desires if we invest in ourselves. Investments don’t have to be unpleasant but about your way of life. Know what you deserve and where you can work harder.

What do you plan on doing to make your 2014 about compassion, self worth, and lots of laughs? How are you going to turn yourself into the connected and stunning party monster that is inside of you? The holidays are the perfect time to reconnect with yourself and loved ones, get ready to be honest with yourself and shine in 2014.

Welcome to the honey comb!

Christmas Heads BHive Bridgeport Connecticut Sprinkles and Booze

Why hello there!

I took an unofficial mini break from blogging for about a week. With Thanksgiving and other holiday craziness, I needed to take a breather. I blame it on the boogie, or poor planning but more so the boogie.

Man, do I have a whole bunch to get you guys caught up on and will be frantically blogging all weekend into next week. Thank goodness for my honey fix. I mean, I do love honey but in this case I am referring to The B:Hive. Being a member of a coworking space is probably one of the best things that has happened to me this year. Ever since i’ve started a company fueled on my hopes and dreams, I’ve needed the proper setting in which to keep me motivated. If you’re a veteran entrepreneur or new to the scene, a melting pot of great like minded people, brilliant environment, and fun is what is necessary for you to be successful. I promise!

This is especially true since I am purging a ton of my belongings, packing the rest into boxes, and moving (just across town) in a few months. My life has been completely all over the place but knowing that I can escape, collect myself, and work in my office away from home is such a great feeling.

Being a member of a dope coworking space sure as hell beats going to a coffee shop. Don’t get me wrong, I love coffee shops for playdates and…well coffee but you can spend hours in a coffee shop surrounded by townies and hipsters, spend $5-$15, and leave feeling like you still have so much to do. Plus, it’s not an office. If you work for yourself I am sure the last thing you want to do is go to a coffee shop to meet with a client or a sponsor. Unprofessional and unclassy!

unicorn fun BHive Bridgeport Connecticut Sprinkles and Booze

The amount of amazing people I meet in my shared office space is intense and so wonderful. It’s refreshing to work alongside people from different industries and backgrounds. I’ve also met folks in which I can collaborate on future projects with. It’s a melting pot of coolness that you wouldn’t necessarily get while working in your PJs at home. In most coworking space, you build a community in which you can have fun and also stay focused.

Anyway, I didn’t mean for this to be an on going rant and rave about my office away from home…or did I?!  I have been here for hours today working on my business ventures of Sprinkles and Booze for 2014 and feel more motivated and blessed than ever. I met some rad new people, listened to some Radiohead, and got a ton of work done today. I feel like it was a Friday well spent and I look forward to many more days of business growth and adventures at The B:Hive.

Lots of updates coming within the next week! Guard your loins, hold on to your knickers, and as always…
